When they can take an active part in creating their own costume, the whole event becomes even more fun. Although a young child probably can not make their entire costume, they can certainly make an accessory or two.<br />
<br />
The following Halloween kid crafts focus just on costume accessories that can be used well after the holiday for other dress up fun.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgygsvqsSLGdgz8CWN2s8_KAFb3SQ7CdhoqR6bnPt_09N-dWCuzCI8jf_IxIQ8HrO4GJt1WMYnOUp_mKncVN_bwK94mwZCdQ1yyfHuc3_40jHIeoP9m3PqWGZ5SKGZ3l_92kT13GcUZLKs/s1600/pipe+cleaner+crown.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="pipe cleaner crown" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgygsvqsSLGdgz8CWN2s8_KAFb3SQ7CdhoqR6bnPt_09N-dWCuzCI8jf_IxIQ8HrO4GJt1WMYnOUp_mKncVN_bwK94mwZCdQ1yyfHuc3_40jHIeoP9m3PqWGZ5SKGZ3l_92kT13GcUZLKs/s1600/pipe+cleaner+crown.jpg" height="240" title="pipe cleaner crown" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
This p<a href="http://www.kiwicrate.com/projects/Royal-Crown/2441" target="_blank">ipe cleaner crown</a> by Kiwi Crate is an easy to make accessory that just takes one item - pipe cleaners!<br />

Ikat Bag shows how easy it is to make safe swords with empty wrapping paper cardboard tubes. If you save your tubes, you are in luck. If not, you can always use any type of cardboard, from a box, and cover that with the tin foil. Check out the <a href="http://www.ikatbag.com/2010/11/we-have-weapons.html" target="_blank">sword tutorial</a> for more ideas.<br />
<br />

For this Halloween craft, have your kids go outside and start collecting some branches. All they need to do is decorate the branches with beads like this idea from <a href="http://playfullearning.net/2013/10/crafts-for-kids-beaded-magic-wands/" target="_blank">Playful Learning</a> or simply paint them with some glitter paint like the idea below from <a href="http://kidsactivitiesblog.com/47366/easy-wizards-wand" target="_blank">Kids Activity Blog</a>.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
A jester hat is fun and colorful and just takes some construction paper, cutting and gluing. It's easy with this <a href="http://blog.mardigrasoutlet.com/2012/02/paper-jester-hat-pattern-mardi-gras.html" target="_blank">jester hat pattern</a>.<br />

<br />
<br />
A popular character to be on Halloween is either a witch or wizard, so I had to include a <a href="http://kiboomukidssongs.com/halloween-song-and-witch-hat-craft/" target="_blank">witches hat</a>. <br />

Now is the time when you want to take advantage of that interest and let them experiment with some home Christmas ornaments that you can enjoy for years to come. Because, believe me, when they get into those teen years, most will no longer have an interest in such matters.<br />
<br />
There are plenty of homemade Christmas ornaments for kids to make that are fairly simple, creative, and highly personalized. These little keepsakes will be treasured for many Christmases as they are brought out each year along with all of the memories.<br />
<br />
Here are a few ideas to get you started:

<br />
Most of us are not ready to hand over a knife to our little ones for the basic pumpkin carving tradition, though, so I have come up with some safer alternatives.<br />
<br />
Your kids are sure to have just as much fun, if not more, with this collection of pumpkin crafts for preschoolers. All of them are easy to do, creative, and, of course, very safe.<br />

However, when that time comes to an end there can be a little bit of a let down.<br />
<br />
To help keep the momentum going, this is a good time to throw in a fun craft activity involving all of the wonderful natural souvenirs that may have been collected during the vacation. <br />
<br />
Kids will enjoy preserving their vacation memories in a creative way. Plus the craft activity will help to ease them back into the daily routine.<br />
<br />
Here are a couple of my favorite vacation crafts that will look wonderful on display:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjG65STuc7ACU8sQJDbUgp06OJwt_BHWzb1iXg05tWN1uuEp7RYXOJXnIjJT50rzF8Gi8BpjrW1B8vBxfUkuwAQJAQJ6NB-J9615c22PvA-89lct1D3-r_arKFwGEk2Xa-ZmWHGZnn5SC8/s1600/beach-craft.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjG65STuc7ACU8sQJDbUgp06OJwt_BHWzb1iXg05tWN1uuEp7RYXOJXnIjJT50rzF8Gi8BpjrW1B8vBxfUkuwAQJAQJ6NB-J9615c22PvA-89lct1D3-r_arKFwGEk2Xa-ZmWHGZnn5SC8/s320/beach-craft.jpg" width="234" /></a></div>
This vacation craft by <a href="http://www.livinglocurto.com/2013/07/kids-craft-idea-vacation/" target="_blank">Living Locurto</a> takes elements from the beach and displays them in a jar. The child's name is then put on a decorative tag so there is no question on whose is whose. Kids will love having this reminder on a shelf or dresser.<br />
<br />
Another great idea is to make a vacation shadow box. Here are several different examples:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhg2LBw0lzb1QIqh-7Zvoi7N5Dsu6OamWdPw1sBXI68m0EgFygfne4paw955mSX9kls59egcv98C4a-c-6nVzPW7Uyi8NDhnDOTwseKoEx2lavGI6qfnwjZS8oB_gWcaOwE3ycLGTubiAM/s1600/2.11shadowbox-01.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhg2LBw0lzb1QIqh-7Zvoi7N5Dsu6OamWdPw1sBXI68m0EgFygfne4paw955mSX9kls59egcv98C4a-c-6nVzPW7Uyi8NDhnDOTwseKoEx2lavGI6qfnwjZS8oB_gWcaOwE3ycLGTubiAM/s320/2.11shadowbox-01.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I love how this one by, <a href="http://designaglow.com/design/photo-design-project-shadow-boxes-for-beautiful-keepsakes/" target="_blank">To Be Charmed</a>, uses some of the vacation photos to spell out descriptive words. The rest of the keepsaks are just displayed at the bottom of the shadow box.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirYOhEA6Yz8EOv49TkLNjQIJx7FYuLrcZzcg2IFfKxlYLfBftIQFN1XwyoZ1yhDH3zsqpJNB64oOH7PkbAFrqCgRmEN98S00SayH5WYI0PyI1XyQWfAsgart3bN1QHosHc8R0PQzxl-zc/s1600/crafts-425ds082410.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="203" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirYOhEA6Yz8EOv49TkLNjQIJx7FYuLrcZzcg2IFfKxlYLfBftIQFN1XwyoZ1yhDH3zsqpJNB64oOH7PkbAFrqCgRmEN98S00SayH5WYI0PyI1XyQWfAsgart3bN1QHosHc8R0PQzxl-zc/s320/crafts-425ds082410.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
This one by, <a href="http://www.parentdish.com/2010/08/24/make-and-learn-crafts-lasting-summer-memories-in-a-shadow-box/" target="_blank">Parent Dish</a>, uses a combination of keepsakes and fun die cuts and stickers.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDjLYjajcW12usOWpha4zxAPO6qUBvCOa3qlXDjK_Ht_6NHYJF7WQmC5IGF9A2Nr-UhcdjG5MIVLzxgc0bOTeKqVglBeH6ejnoZnVqA05gyukSI8eNap3ZlWXeXmIMnAFCZRMx-Mw-cGg/s1600/Collected-Shells-Shadow-Box.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="234" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDjLYjajcW12usOWpha4zxAPO6qUBvCOa3qlXDjK_Ht_6NHYJF7WQmC5IGF9A2Nr-UhcdjG5MIVLzxgc0bOTeKqVglBeH6ejnoZnVqA05gyukSI8eNap3ZlWXeXmIMnAFCZRMx-Mw-cGg/s320/Collected-Shells-Shadow-Box.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
And this one is just stuffed full of a massive shell collection! I love the simple artsy look by <a href="http://satoridesignforliving.com/2013/03/displaying-vacation-mementos/" target="_blank">Meadow Lake Cottage.</a><br />
<br />
Once your kids have completed one of these vacation crafts, they will be ready to jump back into the routine and look back fondly at the fun reminder that they have!<br />
<br />
Happy Crafting!<br />

Here are a few more ideas that might even get your kids wishing for a rainy day!<br />
<br />
This one by<a href="http://www.rebeccasdiy.blogspot.se/2013/02/diy-variga-djurhangen-spring-animal.html" target="_blank"> Rebecca's DIY</a> really caught my eye because I love all things rustic:<br />

<br />
<div>
The little heads are made from Creative Paper Clay which you can get at craft stores. It is a clay that air dries and does not require baking. This craft is perfect for kids of all ages and they can spend a lot of time crafting their special pieces.</div>

<br />
I like chalkboards and crayons and went with that thought for the new design. Plus the bold black and white with a splash of bright color just says kid to me!<br />
<br />
Look for many new craft ideas coming your way too.<br />
<br />
Do you have a suggestion or a particular craft theme that you would like to see? Just drop me a note and I will be happy to accommodate!<br />
<br />
Meanwhile, here is a creative homemade bird feeder craft, by <a href="http://www.babble.com/kid/spring-crafts-for-kids-birdfeeder/" target="_blank">Babble</a>, that your kids can make and set out this Summer. They may even begin to enjoy a little bird watching!<br />

<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Boxes and kids go together like peanut butter and jelly. If you ever watch a little kid with a new package, it seems they enjoy the box it came in almost more than the actual gift. Things don't change too much as they get older. Taking a box, like a cereal box, and creating something like their own village is huge fun. This idea and more can be done with cereal boxes or any other type of boxes you have laying around.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I also have a whole section dedicated to <a href="http://www.kid-craft-ideas.blogspot.com/2013/02/shoe-box-crafts.html" target="_blank">Shoe Box Crafts</a>.</div>

<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
And finally, if you save buttons, crafts like this button tree only take buttons and branches. If you don't save buttons, look for old clothes that may not be in good enough condition to donate and tear off those buttons!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>

Happy Crafting!</div>

I have actually found mason jars full of them at thrift shops and antique stores for next to nothing in price.<br />
<br />
Even if you have old shirts that are too worn to give away, you can at least take off all of the buttons and save them for a rainy day.<br />
<br />
Once you see all of these fun craft ideas that you can do, you will know what I am talking about and want to start saving up!<br />
<br />
Here are some of my favorite button crafts that kids will especially enjoy:<br />
<br />
1. Fall Tree by <a href="http://www.meetthedubiens.com/2011/09/fall-button-branch.html" target="_blank">Meet The Dubiens</a><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHn5HWh3Tdr7xXQEOUTF9z0ETZf7sG8wRW5uzPiDsx-QcNNP3tnbYSjqSUNXuIGhyphenhyphenjr0szzS2sRiY5lo_UNizRvtkqveXmg8mjFUak6pdaO75x08eL2dlbKRd7-Sq0iuKr6NqRtwDLE1Y/s1600/Button-Fall-Tree.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="247" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHn5HWh3Tdr7xXQEOUTF9z0ETZf7sG8wRW5uzPiDsx-QcNNP3tnbYSjqSUNXuIGhyphenhyphenjr0szzS2sRiY5lo_UNizRvtkqveXmg8mjFUak6pdaO75x08eL2dlbKRd7-Sq0iuKr6NqRtwDLE1Y/s320/Button-Fall-Tree.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I love this Fall tree that not only uses colorful buttons, in all sizes, but all uses a real tree branch to create the colorful tree. Kids will love making a work of art like this that they can hang proudly on the wall.<br />
<br />
2. Button Clock by <a href="http://www.lilsugar.com/Button-Craft-Ideas-18611674?fullscreen=true&slide=1&image_nid=18613554" target="_blank">Lil Sugar</a><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
For this craft, you just need to buy a clock kit from the craft store, an embroidery hoop, 12 buttons and some burlap. You would have to poke a hole through the burlap for the clock mechanism and follow the manufacturers instructions for the set up. The colorful buttons make such a cute substitution for the numbers!</div>

This can be another favorite for kids to make decorations for. Besides the obvious decorating of eggs, there are other fun ideas for baskets, toys and miscellaneous decorations.<br />
<br />
I gathered up some favorites that your kids will have fun with:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

These Easter craft chicks by <a href="http://www.holiday-kids-crafts.com/Easter-Crafts-paper-cup-chick.html" target="_blank">Holiday Kid Crafts</a> are so adorable! I especially like the one that has feathers on his body. It makes him look more cuddly. These are easily made with paper cups and construction paper. Make sure to check out this tutorial!<br />

Kids have just as much fun giving special gifts to the important people in their lives. <br />
<br />
Instead of just purchasing gifts, kids can make presents to put under the tree that are especially meaningful to the recipient. Plus, you child will most likely have more fun creating something special than going out for a boring shopping trip.<br />
<br />
There are plenty of easy gift ideas that kids can create that will be highly appreciated by grandparents, parents, or other friends and family.<br />
<br />
Here are just a few ideas to get you started:<br />
<br />
1. Hand Soap Featuring Art Work by <b><a href="http://www.giverslog.com/?p=1146" target="_blank">Givers Log</a></b><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPVCwJQoi2UBLW_KAvOqnfTSaMoorY7VYm_5oz473s-92W1-6vgi9ScMLN9eqanBw9lmnHavAqTF4pWVqrQufI9IKwsPQV9cGtLLzXPTCaZku4afCU3zHyqF1WMXo6oCCAVL1brMt5R2M/s1600/handmade-mothers-day-gift.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="260" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPVCwJQoi2UBLW_KAvOqnfTSaMoorY7VYm_5oz473s-92W1-6vgi9ScMLN9eqanBw9lmnHavAqTF4pWVqrQufI9IKwsPQV9cGtLLzXPTCaZku4afCU3zHyqF1WMXo6oCCAVL1brMt5R2M/s320/handmade-mothers-day-gift.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Hand soap that features the child's art work on the container will undoubtedly be so much appreciated by parents, grandparents or even teachers. The tutorial includes some important tips but it is easy to follow and will result in a treasured gift.<br />
<br />
2. Artwork Checkbook or Passport Covers by <b><a href="http://www.marthastewart.com/276932/christmas-gifts-kids-can-make-for-parent/@center/307035/santas-workshop#214506" target="_blank">Martha Stewart</a></b><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3IpcKm0tdXjWnKhwpRWBn7IkImzeWJeWdngfwxH3S9_dQlgmNYiCjFmVwpdqYac4JlxzwWVhwap3oahnOteurZlp7a598rF15zVRI6EyM9_YRT1LwLdcHnsRZLS5hFieOl0xTjR7Ey24/s1600/mslkids_1103_xc6s_cards_xl.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3IpcKm0tdXjWnKhwpRWBn7IkImzeWJeWdngfwxH3S9_dQlgmNYiCjFmVwpdqYac4JlxzwWVhwap3oahnOteurZlp7a598rF15zVRI6EyM9_YRT1LwLdcHnsRZLS5hFieOl0xTjR7Ey24/s320/mslkids_1103_xc6s_cards_xl.jpg" width="256" /></a></div>
<br />
I know I would rather have a fun checkbook cover, like one of these, rather than a plain blue or black one from the bank! Kids can have fun creating any design that they want.<br />
<br />
3. Modern Art Plates by <b><a href="http://www.craftjr.com/gifts-kids-can-make-diy-modern-art-plates/" target="_blank">Craft Jr</a></b><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
This plate craft may just be my favorite. It was inspired by some expensive Marimekko design plates. These plates were created with dollar store plates and paint markers! You have to see the inspiration plates compared to these. Kids will be proud to give some of their very own modern art.<br />
<br />

And, speaking of Christmas trees, kids can make and decorate their very own trees with large pine cones.<br />
<br />
Since many of these crafts require some of the same supplies such as pipe cleaners, beads, pom-poms and paint, you could spend an afternoon making several of these projects without spending a lot of money.<iframe bordercolor="#000000" frameborder="0" height="150" hspace="0" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" scrolling="no" src="http://ad.doubleclick.net/adi/N7433.148119.BLOGGEREN/B6675004.68879;sz=180x150;ord=[timestamp]?;lid=41000613802463762;pid=NMG43342;usg=AFHzDLv6ELqyF_B3YdY8dTL4HlVySO685w;adurl=http%253A%252F%252Fwww.funtoymall.com%252Fnmg43342.html%253Fmr%253AtrackingCode%253DF1864303-0DE4-E111-8FF3-001B21BCC0BC%2526mr%253AreferralID%253DNA;pubid=597046;price=%2414.64;title=Alex+Toys+407414+Giant...;merc=FuntoyMall;imgsrc=http%3A%2F%2Fsite.unbeatablesale.com%2Fimg267%2Fnmg43342.gif;width=110;height=76" vspace="0" width="180"></iframe>Renee Hanlonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14831296284422439421noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1933395043232655249.post-21354434865065498032012-11-01T06:26:00.000-07:002012-11-01T06:26:12.208-07:00Kids Christmas CraftsNow that Halloween is over, it is time to start thinking about Christmas and decorations coming up. </div>
One of the most popular craft ideas for kids is the making of a puppet! Let your child choose from one of these fun <b>puppet crafts </b>to create and then have hours of endless play time with their new puppet buddies.<br />
Whether they make just one or several, they will have fun chatting with their new, not so imaginary, friends.<br />
<br />
You can also get a group of kids together to create their own unique puppet friends and then stage a puppet show. This may be fun to do at a kids party or other event for good group interaction.<br />
<br />
I have chosen a wide variety of <b>puppet crafts</b>, including finger puppets and kits, for you to pick from. All of the crafts will have easy to follow instructions. Just click on the photos to get to the full tutorials.<br />

Styrofoam balls plus dowel plus craft foam equals adorable! The fact that these puppets are on sticks makes them a little easier to maneuver behind a stage if you are wanting to do a puppet show.<br />

While picking up some favorite natural souvenirs, make sure to bring home a good bunch of pine cones.<br />
<br />
When you see all of the <b>pine cone crafts</b> that you can create, you will know why you need a bunch! Kids will enjoy the process of collecting their pine cones and then turning them into one of these fun projects. Another win-win idea I think! Plus, these crafts are also budget friendly since you are borrowing the majority from nature.<br />
<br />
This is a round-up of my favorite pine cone crafts for kids. You can get to all of the full tutorials by simply clicking on the photos.<br />

Quite often there are instances that you have a group of girls together and need a fun craft idea. Whether it be a girls scouts group, church, camp or just a sleep over party, I found some fun <b>craft ideas for girls</b> that will certainly keep them busy.<br />
<br />
Most girls like things with bling! So, I am going to start with the girly girl type of crafts.<br />
<br />
1. Decorated Flip Flops Craft by <a href="http://thefrugalgirls.com/2011/06/girls-slumber-party-crafts.html" target="_blank">Frugal Girls</a>.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZLGZfpOhsz_1WSClfRC_jAbbL4eJO4aUTZT6pMAlAPHj-MK70-vOJPQVvxzHNEItI-uEI7B4_W5UYOKhs5PncxsLIlUDj0ewMFOhxsB3a87Zmj-w6P0WsqOR44lqCctM0mEK4jjkFtJo/s1600/Girls-Flip-Flop-Craft.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZLGZfpOhsz_1WSClfRC_jAbbL4eJO4aUTZT6pMAlAPHj-MK70-vOJPQVvxzHNEItI-uEI7B4_W5UYOKhs5PncxsLIlUDj0ewMFOhxsB3a87Zmj-w6P0WsqOR44lqCctM0mEK4jjkFtJo/s320/Girls-Flip-Flop-Craft.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
This idea comes from a sleepover party idea from Frugal Girls. Flip Flops are super inexpensive to buy especially if you can pick them up from a dollar store. Blinging them out with fluffy tulle and ribbon is a fun project plus the girls can wear their project when they are through.<br />
<br />
2. Fancy Feather Hair Accessory by <a href="http://www.tutuzone.com/2012/01/make-fancy-feather-hair-ornament.html" target="_blank">Tutu Zone</a>.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7z12SvB4NCW7u2wUxMjSQz2yIAuG4xMEcfPqUlgNudq-FuFFwWmUtz40MFfInw0IyWRhTrAiKaYV7_e0FF1Y2EKorgtwH17m71y9adNSDzFdW7WVEjZUcOaTBRkxjc_PX8r2t-EaiFjU/s1600/hair-feather.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="219" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7z12SvB4NCW7u2wUxMjSQz2yIAuG4xMEcfPqUlgNudq-FuFFwWmUtz40MFfInw0IyWRhTrAiKaYV7_e0FF1Y2EKorgtwH17m71y9adNSDzFdW7WVEjZUcOaTBRkxjc_PX8r2t-EaiFjU/s320/hair-feather.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I have seen my nieces wearing feathers in their hair several times. Girls would have fun customizing their very own hair accessory with colored feathers and an assortment of beads. The step by step instructions for this craft are very easy to follow.<br />
<br />
3. Flower Magnets by <a href="http://mnmchocolatecandyfunhouse.blogspot.com/2008/04/craft-ideas-for-girls-camp.html" target="_blank">M&M Chocolate Candy Fun House</a>.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgH7vVHo5SYb0fuLs1I3IN8AOeceKuroYI_NupJQhVFtGx-nqTHsGkBrynJdM-TVO2xsVh7pzfRrkeAn4Mo30V51w6VP1ZO-Q-I0h-rkJR1v10s2o8FnuywKoUhitX-cEl9HfaMHMewmXk/s1600/flower-magnets.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgH7vVHo5SYb0fuLs1I3IN8AOeceKuroYI_NupJQhVFtGx-nqTHsGkBrynJdM-TVO2xsVh7pzfRrkeAn4Mo30V51w6VP1ZO-Q-I0h-rkJR1v10s2o8FnuywKoUhitX-cEl9HfaMHMewmXk/s1600/flower-magnets.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
These are a cute and easy craft. The woodsie flower shapes can be purchased at a craft store like Michaels. Then just have your girls decorate them with craft paper or paint and any other fun embellishments that you have on hand. Finally, stick a magnet on the back and you are done. This was just one of the fun ideas provided by M&M for girls camp craft ideas.<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Any girl would love making a fun button bracelet. With the wide variety of buttons available, girls can customize their style and colors. Fun and not too blingy!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

Instead of just throwing them out, use them to keep your kids busy with a fun craft project.<br />
<br />
There are all kinds of creative things that can be done with the boxes that can be enjoyed long after the craft project is complete.<br />
<br />
Here is a round up of some of the ones that will be the most likely to keep your kids entertained the longest!<br />
<br />
1. Cereal Box Village by <a href="http://www.dinneralovestory.com/crafts-moms-dirty-secret/" target="_blank">Dinner A Love Story</a>:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnnzRshmTdYCufaR2fLuOzekJ8O40fei1jy2gkMA5mKM978AARzbgGk8mjCtxasSQex2P7PepLA9a06OS8hGR2D0d_k0rbJG8ouZknr4a9cCaFPTJrlOM1M7n4xOoTbWzE_UDKinvVTck/s1600/5-row-houses.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnnzRshmTdYCufaR2fLuOzekJ8O40fei1jy2gkMA5mKM978AARzbgGk8mjCtxasSQex2P7PepLA9a06OS8hGR2D0d_k0rbJG8ouZknr4a9cCaFPTJrlOM1M7n4xOoTbWzE_UDKinvVTck/s320/5-row-houses.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
A village of houses made from cereal boxes and paint! This is sure to keep the kids busy for a long period of time. They could even add some miniature toy people, that they probably have from other toys, to come live in and work in the village.<br />
<br />
2. Cereal Box Snowman by <a href="http://crafts.kaboose.com/cereal-box-snowman.html" target="_blank">Kaboose</a>:<br />

Here is a fun project for Halloween. Kids love making scary things and will have a good time with this one.<br />
<br />
4. Cardboard Box Castle by <a href="http://familyfun.go.com/crafts/the-great-cardboard-castle-668698/" target="_blank">Family Fun</a>:<br />

<br />
A castle like this can use a variety of different sized cardboard boxes, including cereal boxes. Kids will have as much fun constructing this masterpiece as they will have playing with it afterwards.<br />
<br />
5. Cereal Box Globes by <a href="http://myplumpudding.blogspot.com/2009/04/cereal-box-globes-for-earth-day.html" target="_blank">Plum Pudding</a>:<br />

Costumes can get pretty expensive to buy but with a little creativity you can make something fun and original that your child will be sure to love.<br />
<br />
<b>Homemade Halloween costumes</b> may sound a little intimating but I have found some that really can be made quite easily <u>and</u> inexpensively and still get that wow factor.<br />
<br />
Here are some of the best homemade Halloween costumes that I found for kids:<br />
<br />
1. Lego Costume by <a href="http://www.countryliving.com/crafts/projects/lego-costume-1009" target="_blank">Country Living</a><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
All this costume takes is a large box that you can recycle, some round boxes from the craft store and some glossy spray paint. Who wouldn't want to dress up as this popular and fun play toy? <br />
<br />

If you can cut and glue, then you can put together this cute and easy costume. You may not want to do this one at the last minute though with all of those cotton balls!<br />
<br />

<br />
This Halloween costume looks like there would be sewing required but there is not! The whole costume was put together with hot glue primarily using felt.<br />
<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

How sweet is this little lion? Anything that you can attach to existing clothing can be completed in a snap. I just love the mane created from strips of soft fleece.<br />
<br />

Finally, this costume is just so sweet - I love it! It is primarily made from a large over sized sweatshirt and lots of Styrofoam balls in assorted sizes. This is again a no-sew option that is easy to make.<br />
