Homemade Halloween Costumes For Kids

With Halloween coming up, I'm sure your kids are getting excited thinking about what they want to be dressed up as.  Costumes can get pretty expensive to buy but with a little creativity you can make something fun and original that your child will be sure to love.

Homemade Halloween costumes may sound a little intimating but I have found some that really can be made quite easily and inexpensively and still get that wow factor.

Here are some of the best homemade Halloween costumes that I found for kids:

1.  Lego Costume by Country Living

All this costume takes is a large box that you can recycle, some round boxes from the craft store and some glossy spray paint.  Who wouldn't want to dress up as this popular and fun play toy?

2.  Little Lamb by Parents Magazine

If you can cut and glue, then you can put together this cute and easy costume.  You may not want to do this one at the last minute though with all of those cotton balls!

3.  Knight Costume by Wilson World

This Halloween costume looks like there would be sewing required but there is not!  The whole costume was put together with hot glue primarily using felt.

4.  Baby Lion by Readers Digest

How sweet is this little lion?  Anything that you can attach to existing clothing can be completed in a snap.  I just love the mane created from strips of soft fleece.

5.  Snowball Costume by Parenting

Finally, this costume is just so sweet - I love it!  It is primarily made from a large over sized sweatshirt and lots of Styrofoam balls in assorted sizes.  This is again a no-sew option that is easy to make.
